Rebecca Taichman

Director Rebecca Taichman’s Off-Broadway credits include Sarah Ruhl’s Orlando for Classic Stage Company); Theresa Rebeck’s The Scene, starring Tony Shalhoub and Patricia Heaton for Second Stage; and Menopausal Gentleman (Obie Award). She has directed regional theater productions of Twelfth Night and The Taming of the Shrew for The Shakespeare Theatre; the world premiere of David Adjmi’s The Evildoers at Yale Rep and the Sundance Theater Lab; and the world premiere of Sarah Ruhl’s Dead Man’s Cell Phone at Woolly Mammoth, for which she received a Helen Hayes Award nomination. Ms. Taichman’s other credits include the premiere of Theresa Rebeck’s Mauritius at The Huntington,  for which she received IRNE and Elliot Norton Awards; the premiere of The Scene  for Humana;  and Ruhl’s The Clean House at Woolly Mammoth, which received the 2006 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Resident Play. She directed Raul Esparza in Elise Thoron’s Green Violin, winning the 2003 Barrymore Award for Outstanding Direction. Ms. Taichman is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.
